Chief Executive Diane Vernon Appointed MBE

Diane Vernon Appointed MBE In Queen's Jubilee Birthday Honours

EmployabilityUK is beyond delighted to announce the appointment of Chief Executive Diane Vernon as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Diane receives the award in recognition of her ongoing passion and commitment to supporting disadvantaged young people in the community; a fitting tribute against the unprecedented backdrop of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Speaking on receiving the award, she said, “I am shocked and delighted to have been listed in this year’s Queen’s Honours List.

“I feel extremely privileged to do the work that I do and to be able to make such a positive difference in young people’s lives. I am also hugely appreciative of the continued support of all of our amazing volunteers working with us at EmployabilityUK, as without them, I would simply not have been able to achieve this.”

Diane’s personal achievement follows EmployabilityUK’s receipt of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) in 2021.

“I am so honoured to have been personally nominated for such a wonderful accolade, and feel incredibly humble,” she continued. “It’s very surreal, as only last month I attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service on behalf of the EmployabilityUK team.”

She will officially receive the award later this year in a special ceremony conducted by the Central Chancery of the Orders of the Knighthood.

“I will be dedicating this award to my late father, who was a committed supporter of our work. I know he would be very proud that the charity I founded has made such a phenomenal impact on so many young people.”

The EmployabilityUK team would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Diane on this thoroughly deserved recognition of the work she has done and continues to do in providing young people with opportunities to succeed, regardless of their backgrounds and circumstances.
