Launching the Ultimate Employability Skills Programme

We are delighted to announce our brand new flagship programme that will transform outcomes and place employability skills at the heart of young people’s learning.

Over the past few months, we have been developing the Ultimate Employability Skills Programme (UESP) – taking the best features of our award-winning programmes, especially the interventions the learners themselves express that they have benefited from the most. It’s been a privilege to work with organisations that share our passion to grow the potential in young people.

One of the key drivers behind the programme’s creation is that research shows that many young people lack the skills and confidence they need to enter the job market and flourish in employment.

Additionally, many employers feel that the education system doesn’t necessarily prepare young people adequately for the world of work. So, we continue to bring the education and business sectors together, facilitating this important collaboration.

With a combination of core modules and ‘wild cards’ used to tailor the experience, each programme is carefully designed to meet the needs of the young people and the organisations we partner with. This innovative programme is designed to enhance the life skills and work-readiness of young people, and it supports the critical pieces often missing in their recruitment and development. Learners gain transferable employability skills that are relevant to all career paths and aspirations, regardless of their chosen pathway to work.

We work with like-minded local organisations and education providers to help young people – to become confident, skilled and work-ready. The programmes are delivered to 16-18 and 18-21+ year old learners within a range of education settings, including Further and Higher Education, as well as to students with additional needs and in alternative provision.

We are excited to deliver the programmes in partnership with local employers and volunteers from various backgrounds, as learners get an opportunity to engage with business professionals and explore the real world of work.

To provide the highest possible standard, we gained programme endorsement by NCFE, an educational charity and leader in vocational and technical learning. Our programme is also endorsed by the Duke of Edinburgh Award – enabling us to offer learners unique and recognised volunteering opportunities to gain real work experience. This will make such a difference in their employment profile, helping them to truly stand out.

As we launch the UESP, we are offering opportunities for leaders and organisations to contribute and partner with us. Businesses have a critical role to play and by partnering with us, they can put their organisation at the centre of a positive solution, while enhancing their CSR and ESG agendas. We look forward to building powerful partnerships and making a difference in the lives of young people nationwide.
