An Inspiring Session at Ash Green School in Coventry

The EmployabilityUK team today had the pleasure of a session with students from Ash Green School in Coventry as they work towards the Kagool Tech Boss Challenge.

Employability Skills Programme Officer at EUK, Ethan Bloss, said: “The Tech Boss Challenge is a great way to engage young people about their prospects and career ambitions. It harnesses the combined expertise of Kagool and EUK to build skills and confidence.

“With so many highly desirable careers in the tech industry and much more to come, this is a fantastic opportunity to give young people insight into what to expect and to equip them to thrive.

“It’s always great to interact with students in person and the local nature of the Challenge means I’m particularly delighted to contribute and give back to the community. I’m very much looking forward to being a part of more great sessions around Coventry as the Tech Boss Challenge continues.”

What Is The Tech Boss Challenge?

Launched in May 2022, the Tech Boss Challenge was designed in partnership between Kagool and EmployabilityUK to provide insight into the working world that isn’t always available to young people in Year 12.

Created to showcase a broader range of roles and career paths open to those interested in the tech industry, the programme raises confidence and aspirations, while encouraging them to think like consultants.

Raising Aspirations Across Coventry

Ash Green School is a participant in the pilot version of the programme, and one of three schools across Coventry taking part, alongside Nicholas Chamberlaine School and Lyng Hall School.

Today’s session focused on using vision boards to set, monitor and achieve goals. EmployabilityUK introduces vision boards as a way to bring structure and clarity to modern working life, helping young people on the brink of making potentially life-changing decisions on their future to understand where they want to go, and how they plan to get there.

If you’re interested in using vision boards as a career tool, you can find out all about getting started in The A-Z of Vision Boards by longtime EUK supporter Andrew Carter.

EmployabilityUK continues to provide both in-class support and virtual sessions to support students, while Kagool has created an industry-leading mentoring programme, drawing on expertise in marketing, human resources, analytics and many other critical business functions.
